When searching on the Internet for information about ITP, you can end up looking through a lot of websites for Income Tax Professionals.
We decided to make it easier to find great ITP blogs by putting them all together in one place. There is a lot to read about ITP if you know where to look and more personal blogs and websites popping up all the time.
1. Miss Plaquetas
MISS PLAQUETAS is a wonderful account of living life with ITP. Laura lives in Mexico City and writes in English and Spanish. She also suffers from Fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue syndrome. Laura’s insight and honestly about living with chronic illness is heart felt and inspirational.
Her INSTAGRAM feed is updated often and she connects to other ITP patients (In Spanish the acronym is PTI) via the Hashtag #PLATELETS platelets.
2. Guide 2 ITP
This is a great website for ITP. GUIDE TO ITP has a magazine style layout and very comprehensive content – from food and nutrition to the latest research and what it’s like to live with ITP.
This is the website that produced the ITP Smartphone app ITP TRACKER that helps you to keep track of everything to do with ITP. Guide 2 ITP is sponsored by Health Monitor and always has the most up to date medical research and treatments available as well as a huge list of PATIENT STORIES to read through.
3. Rare Candace
RARE CANDACE is the blog of Candace, an ITP patient currently in remission ofter great success with “off-label” use of Rituxan. 4. ITP… In Our Words…
ITP…IN OUR WORDS an Australian ITP blog. It is a really positive blog with a personal focus. ITP…IN OUR WORDS is for ITP’ers to express thoughts, feelings and lessons learned during their ride. Lots of Patient stories and contributions to the threads. Greta Burroughs is also the author of Headaches and Miracles, her own personal ITP Story available to download from the website.
5. Living with ITP
LIVING WITH ITP is a personal diarised account of what it is likeLIVING WITH ITP in New Zealand. She hopes that it may provide insight and encouragement to others affected by or living with ITP or other related auto-immune disorders that affect the blood.
6. ITP Support Australia
ITP SUPPORT is more of a website than a blog, but it is still great. Started in 2012, here in Australia as a way of sharing information and gaining support from other people who have ITP. ITP SUPPORT is also for parents of children with ITP. The great part about this website is the forum attached, offering patients of every age (even a separate area for teenagers) to talk and share stories and thoughts.
7. Me Myself and ITP
ME MYSELF AND ITP is a UK ITP blog from Katie Meloy. “I’m writing this BLOG to keep a record of everything that has happened to me and help vent and channel any bottled up emotions and anger I may have, rather than attacking my nearest and dearest.
I aim to raise as much awareness as possible for ITP. The more people that hear about ITP and other auto-immune diseases the better.‘
8. Just Francis
I found this Blog JUST FRANCIS while looking at pictures and infographs on Pinterest. JUST FRANCIS is hard to find by searching for ITP Blogs at it is not solely dedicated to ITP. There are some great articles on here about ITP including one from Francis’s sister Royann about living with ITP in the family. It is so important to remember that having ITP affects those around us in significant ways.
9. ITP and Me
Obviously this website is our favorite itp blog. We could not have written a post about itp blogs without including it. ITP AND ME was established in 2010 by patients of ITP who were after more than just medical analysis and numbers and counts. ITP AND ME is Australian based and currently run by Meg Brewster, an ITP patient of more than 7 years. While the website specialises in Australian information and support, there is something for everyone from all over the world.
10. Tianna’s Journey
A personal ITP journal from TIANNA SCHMALTZ. This is the story of medicines, doctors appointments, set backs and travel.
My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find many of your post’s to be just what we are looking for. She was diagnosed with ITP in 2012, and while we have almost adjusted to the disorder, its nice to know people who have been struggling for longer are still finding it a crazy ride. Thanks for the info re more ITP blogs…
I know it is not exactly about ITP but I have also found blogs like The Paleo Mum, http://www.thepaleomom.com/ and Sarah Wilson’s blog http://www.sarahwilson.com/ really helpful too.
Thanks Ryne, I think you are spot on. I have actually already included those blogs in my autoimmune round up list – Check it out here… http://itpandme.com/auto-immune-blog-list-of-love/
